AWARE: VOICE OF THE CHILD

In collaboration with the Hertfordshire Constabulary, AWARE is a short film/training video hybrid. It was important for us to include elements that aimed to train police officers on the warning signs of domestic abuse and the resulting actions that should be carried out, whilst also creating an immersive cinematic viewing experience. The post-production side of things was left mostly to myself, leaving me responsible for the cutting, sound design, colour grading, VFX, graphics and branding of the film.

THE BORDER

The Border is a short film set in a post-apocalyptic England, where floods in the South have forced large quantities of immigration up to the North. It is meant to highlight how small glimpses of humanity can still shine through, even in situations which would promote increasingly selfish behaviour. My roles on this film included cutting, sound designing and graphical/titling work. The post production stage of this short lasted around two months, with most of my work coming in the offline period of editing. Away from the watchful eyes of directors and producers, I submitted the assembly cut in just over a week. Over the next month or so, we built upon this first attempt and submitted three more cuts until we reached something that we were happy with.

TESCO CAREERS WEBSITE ANIMATION

I was commissioned by the team at Tesco Labs to create an animated version of their new Tesco Careers website. I was sent over a host of .svg files for me to convert into a .psd format and import into Adobe After Effects. The animation itself utilises a lot of dissolves and soft 'gliding in' of elements. After Effects was the perfect software for a task like this due to the graph editor being so easy to use, allowing for the creation of smooth eased animations. I only had a 24 hour time frame in which to complete this work, which meant that the animations were kept on the simpler side, but I believe that's a good thing in this case as it drew attention to different elements on the page instead of drawing that attention away from them and onto the animations themselves.

UFC 300 TRAILER

I created this UFC 300 trailer as a personal project, which ended up garnering over 50,000 views and over 2,000 likes across my social media channels. I worked on this promo in the background, over the span of a month, whilst attending college and freelancing. In relation to software used, I utilised both Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Premiere was used for cutting, sound and colour grading, whilst After Effects was used for the special effects and titling. If you're interested in how I made this video, tutorials can be found on my social media channels.
